Wheeler District: OKC's Next Great Urban Neighborhood

The DKP team completed a charrette last week for Wheeler District in Oklahoma City. Wheeler District is a new infill community that is poised to become Oklahoma City’s next great walkable neighborhood. Over 500 people participated in the week-long charrette hosted by Humphreys Development Company.

The Dover, Kohl & Partners design team completed a charrette for the Wheeler District, a new community in the heart of Oklahoma City, developed by the Humphreys Company. The charrette was a huge success with nearly 400 members of the community expressing approval of the Draft Plan on the last day of the charrette.

Dover Kohl Begins Planning for a New District in Oklahoma City

Dover, Kohl & Partners has started working with Humphreys Company to plan Wheeler District. The site is 130 acres and is it located on the south side of the Oklahoma River on Western Avenue just a mile from the center of the city. The charrette is scheduled for July 9 through 16, 2014. More information is available atWheelerDistrict.com. This is a community that will grow over time and become one of Oklahoma City's great urban neighborhoods.
